GMO labeling: U.S. GOV just blocked our rights.

Today the U.S. Congress debated & voted on a bill…. not a bill to label GMOs, but a bill from GMO-maker Monsanto! …a bill the fills in for the bill WE want.

The so-called “Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act” (H.R. 1599) makes labeling voluntary.  It would make it illegal for states to pass common sense GMO labeling and now also prohibits states or counties from banning or regulating GMOs in any way.

Monsanto said they’re against labeling because it’s too expensive to create the labels. But GMO products are ALREADY BEING LABELED……for exports.   So Monsanto lied to US. They’re trying to control US.

In the debate, one pawn from Illinois said SCIENCE proved GMO’s are not harmful.

(nope: You can’t proof a negative. And proof would come only with LONG term, UNbiased studies, which we haven’t had).
For the past 23 years, Monsanto and giant chemical companies have gotten away with writing the rules and regulations behind closed doors, allowing their toxic chemicals and untested genetically engineered crops to receive rubber-stamp approvals at the FDA, EPA and USDA.
The bill also allows GMOs to be labeled as “natural”.  The FDA has not legally defined the word “natural”.   And for good reason:  BIG food companies use that word to trick the public.
These BIG food companies have BIG bucks that they donate to political parties. The FDA is a government agency.
Scientists say GMO’s are natural. Common sense shows scientists are corrupt.
Rep Peter Defasio was the hero of the day for speaking out against the corruption between U.S Congress and Monsanto  (who are trying to make Defasio’s words illegal to speak).

Until the government stops screwing the people it’s supposed to work FOR,  you need to help yourself.   It’s easy to avoid GMO’s, only if you’re eating a healthy (whole-food) diet, without an ingredient…label.

Learn how, with…..

I simply needed to say thanks once more. I’m not certain the things that I would have taken care of in the absence of these ideas provided by you relating to this area of interest. It had become an absolute terrifying dilemma in my position, however , coming across a new specialized avenue you dealt with that took me to leap for gladness. I’m happier for this guidance and thus have high hopes you realize what an amazing job that you’re providing teaching most people using your webpage. I know that you haven’t met all of us.
